Doc2Dock is a non-profit organization dedicated to delivering the excess medical supplies from America to other countries in need.
The goal was to communicate what Dock2Dock is within a short commercial spot. To do this, I researched the company top to bottom. I watched their commercials, read their blog and press releases, and studied exactly how they worked. While I was unable to speak to a representative of the company, I was able to gather more than enough information from their online annual reports and website. Then, I wrote a script and set to work developing the storyboard. I did not have the resources available to hire a voiceover artist, so I quickly learned garage band and recorded the narrative myself.
I learned how to use After Effects at the same time I was developing the storyboards. With the help of online tutorials, the guidance of my professor, and the critique of my classmates I was able to develop this commercial in my first motion graphics semester. It was my first animated project.
